Update On Our Location Change

Friends,

We are working to bring The Green Boheme back as soon as possible. In the planning process we have discovered that our projections show a need for more space than we originally planned for. We are actively looking for a location that will be the perfect fit to bring you more of what you've been asking for. We will keep you posted on our progress!

We appreciate your patience during our downtime.

Thank you for making it possible for us to take the next step so quickly. We appreciate you!

Watch for our weekly updates, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Blessings to you-

Announcement: We are moving!

Friends,

The Green Boheme is temporarily closing the pick up window...to re-open in our own location soon!
This is a very exciting time for us and we promise to divulge the location and progress of our move as we are able. We are gearing up to offer you more than pick up, but a place to come and enjoy the offerings of The Green Boheme with broader hours, grab and go, and "hangin out for a bite" should you desire. We appreciate your patience during our "downtime" and we promise to be back better than ever!

Thank you for making it possible for us to take the next step so quickly. We appreciate you!

Watch for our updates, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Notes and News for December 10th through January 2nd!

A word about warming up for winter...raw vegan foods can be enjoyed all season, even when the chill sets in! Enzymes, the most volatile of nutrients begin to be compromised at temperatures of 118 and above. This means that you can warm your foods up slightly. We've put warming spices into your foods this season, which create a feeling of warmth in your body...but there is more that can be done! With our soups, chili, etc you may warm them gently on the stovetop until slightly warm, or about body temperature. Your foods will be well below 118 degrees! If you have dehydrator, you can put your foods in and warm them at 115 degrees for an hour or two. Give us a call or shoot us an email if you have any questions! Remember our mantra: "Save the Enzymes!"

Updates and News...
Please Note our hours have changed Mondays and Fridays to 6-8pm!

Have you noticed our signs missing this week? We've become so popular that people were walking into the CalTrans building during their business hours and asking for The Green Boheme restaurant! We are hugely blessed by such tremendous interest...but have been asked by CalTrans to only set out our signs after hours. Please give us a buzz if you need directions to the pick up window!

October Recipe: Garlic Naan Bread with Cucumber Raita

Makes 12 servings
Bread
3 peeled and shredded zucchini
½ yellow onion, shredded
2 golden delicious apples, shredded
1 cup pecans or walnuts, soaked and dehydrated
1 ¾ cup sunflower seeds, soaked and dehydrated
1 ¼ cups golden flax seed powder
1 ½ cup almond pulp or 1 cup soaked, then pulsed
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
4-5 tablespoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons sea salt

Dipping Sauce
1 ¾ cups cashews, soaked 4-6 hours and drained
½ cup young coconut meat (about 1 coconut)
¼ cup young coconut water, or more as needed
6 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon maple syrup
probiotic powder (the contents of 1 capsule)
¼ teaspoon peeled and grated ginger
2 peeled and shredded cucumbers
salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
small handful minced mint leaves

For the Bread: Shred zucchini, yellow onion and apples in food processor outfitted with the shredding blade. Replace shredding blade with “S’ blade and pulse to mince. Remove any large pieces, and put combination into a large mixing bowl. Add pecans or walnuts and sunflower seeds to food processor and process until finely ground. Add the finely ground nuts and seeds and all other ingredients into the bowl with shredded zucchini, apple and onion and mix thoroughly with hands. Form into balls (approx. ¼ cup each) and press with palm to hand-form disks onto dehydrator trays lined with teflex sheets. Dehydrate at 105 degrees for 8-12 hrs, or until dry enough to flip naan over onto mesh dehydrator trays. Flatten naan disks again gently with palms and return to dehydrator for another 6-8 hours, or until naan is desired consistency (soft and pliable but not gooey). Serve with dipping sauce. Naan can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

For the Raita:Combine all ingredients except for shredded cucumber and spices in the vitamix and blend until completely smooth. Transfer to a bowl, add shredded cucumber, salt, pepper, cayenne and mint and blend. May be kept for up to 4 days in an airtight container in refrigerator.
